As the weather was so fine, I thought a family outing to North Berwick was in order this Sunday.
I think summer has finally hit Scotland! We packed Mungo into the car and set off down south to the seaside town. It's only 45 minutes from Edinburgh but Mungo was incredibly whiney - he doesn't like the car as no one can pay much attention to him when he's in the boot.
When we got there it was sunny if a bit chilly. Lot's of tourists were swanning around, eating ice cream and we followed them down to the harbour and had some fish 'n' chips.

And an ice cream, too. All the seaside cliches were observed. It's a very pretty town - I've only ever visited when it's been warm so in my mind it's always sunny in North Berwick.
Then we headed to Sea Cliff beach where dozens of children and dogs were running about and splashing in the ocean. Apart from Mungo who was terrified of the waves.
It was lovely - hardly felt like it had been snowing merely days ago. I mean I was still wearing a jacket and a scarf but I could feel the sun!

Despite the sun, it was quite misty today. I think the island of Bass Rock looks like it's floating on the sea. And Tantallon Castle looks quite romantic. Very atmospheric, methinks. Very Outlander.
And I'm absolutely knackered! Too much countryside - if that's possible.
